I Love Lucy

My kids have been wanting a pet for a looooong time. My husband and I kept putting them off. We had a cat, Shadow, before my daughter was born. Shadow got really jealous of Rebecca and started peeing on everything. She would even sit right in front of me and pee. We had her tested up and down but there was nothing wrong with her physically. We stuck it out with her but once a cat starts peeing on things they keep on doing it and it's really hard to get rid of cat urine smell. Fast forward 4 years later and my son was born. She started exhibiting the same behaviors so we had to get rid of her. We just couldn't deal with the cat urine on everything again. So we put off getting another pet.

Then, in the last year, my husband started making noises about wanting a pet. I kept ignoring him. He stepped up the pressure and I finally caved. I went off with my girlfriends to a stamping event and my husband and kids went to pick out a cat at the humane society. My kids were thrilled! She was a foster cat and was supposed to be good with kids. She really can't handle the energy of my boys so she hisses and bites at them a lot. They still love her though. This is a page of my daughter and our cat Lucy. She's been with us since May. She's a moody cat but we still love her.

Cute cat. Hope the boys learn to behave a little more calmly around her. My boys never did learn no matter how many times they were scratched or bit...makes you wonder just how bright can they be? They were also very young, and our latest kitty is much better! Good luck!

Ahh!!! So sweet! We love our pound puppies. We have a cat too. Not from a pound, just a stray that we fee and take care of. Even with their problems (the terrier mix has multiple personality and sometimes not kid friendly, the lhasa is scared of everything, the cat hates being picked up or held), they're the best.

Awww your daughter and cat are so cute! I have two cats. . .one is name Dori (my buddy) and China (my daughter's baby). We've been lucky because they've never pee'd in the house ever - only in the litter box!

Your SBS2 sis,
Maria

I'm glad to hear you adopted her from the Humane Society. They're so many animals in need of homes. Great layouts. Your daughter seems to really love her kitty. (My cat just hides from my son. Maybe someday she'll come around) TFS

I've never had a cat, but that doesn't mean I don't think this one is cute!

We got our dog from a shelter, and she's a GREAT dog! We love her! You're much more tied down with a dog, and that's the only thing I don't like. We put off having a pet for such a long time, but now she's a part of our family!

Fantastic page! The look on your daughter's face says it all! She loves that cat!
