Birthday Cupcakes

There are several birthdays coming up so I made up several birthday cards. I used my new cupcake stamp set from Stampendous. It's an acrylic set and acrylics and I do not get along. I don't like the feel of acrylics, the way they stamp, they are hard to clean, and easy to lose. Even the best point of acrylics, seeing where you are stamping, doesn't work for me. I still can't line them up. Give me wood mounted any day! I know some of you love acrylics and that's great for you. They just don't work for me. Anyways, on to the card.

I used some designer paper from the cupcake designer paper pack from Target. I never found this in the store but my friend, Kristina, gave it to me for my birthday. Grin. The card base is a 6 x6 Tempting Turquoise square folded in half. I stamped the cupcakes in Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Tempting Turquoise, and Gable Green and then punched them out with the 1 3/8" circle punch. Then I mounted the circles on the chocolate chip circle scallops and paper pierced each scallop. These were mounted on stampin' dimensionals. There is some green polka dot ribbon running along the middle of the card underneath the images.

I'll have to work with this set a bit more to get the hang of it. I love the images I just need to get better at lining them up.

Have a great day everyone!

You and me are on the same wavelength - I don't do acrylics either for the exact same reasons! Give me wood stamps anyday! That said, your cards are really cute - even though you committed rubbadultery - LOL! Love them Kathleen!!

Where are you going in CA?

How cute is this card. I love that the pattterned paper is perfect for this card.

I felt the same way with acrylics before but now i love it, i actually prefer them with wood stamps (i guess it's also easy to hide my tons of stamps from my BF)...LOL!

Adorable card Kathleen! I feel the same way about acrylics. They just sit on my shelf, watching my rubber stamps have a good time! :)

I haven't used acrylics, but have heard that from many - but I still think your card turned out wonderful even with your acrylic issues!! Those cupcakes look yummy enough to eat!

This is adorable. I love the cupcakes! I'm the exact opposite though...I can't live without my acrylics - hehe.

OMG, I just got a birthday card from you today! I was just going to ask HOW you knew it was my birthday, and I realized that we got a spreadsheet with a bunch of information for the SBS2. I haven't even looked at that sheet yet! Looking and sending birthday cards is a great thing to do! I need to get with the program!

Thank you so much! I'm honored that you sent a card to me! I love it! That sprinkle paper is so cute! I really need that scallop punch, because this scallop size is so cute!

I've had problems with acrylic before (mostly with hold it "holds" the ink), and I rubbed it with a white eraser, and that seemed to make a big difference. Have you tried that? Give me Stampin' Up or wood mounted anyday too! Even though some acrylics are SUCH cute images!

Thank you again!!
